Small Schools Project

"This report will show that there are many economic arguments in support
of small schools, and that it is fiscally responsible to spend
school construction dollars on small school facilities. Many people know intuitively that small schools work best for children and teachers, but now
there is research to prove it. Unfortunately, many communities have already lost their good, small schools because they could not argue successfully against
educators and policy-makers determined to implement “economies of scale” through consolidation."

SMALL SCHOOLS ARE THE ANSWER. If we want an educated populace, low crime and high incomes we must find healther solutions to the districts budget problems.
Why were there no solutions put forth other than closures?

Save GoldRidge contact all people of power!

Economically there is a point of decreasing marginal returns! Put
5-6 hundred students inside one school and see!!!

During the presentation regarding which schools were to close there was no mention of the over 2million dollars the district paid for GoldRidges MU within the last five years. What about the carpet and air conditioners?
One can not trust people who blindly leave out information!!!

Furthermore the money that the district recieves for the title one schools should not be a factor. As that money follows the children not the location of the school.

How can it be that GoldRidge has five empty classrooms and only room for six more students???

Why was there no mention of the cost of moving students and leasing new portables?

What about the negative externalities? Increase in crime, decrease in test scores, decrease in property value?

These and so many more inconsitancies need to be focused on and fushed out if a truly just and balanced solution is to be found.

WHY RUSH? THERE WILL BE A NEW ADMINSTRATION IN A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND GOD WILLING THEY WILL SEE THE WELL ESTABLISHED CONNECTION BETWEEN SMALL SCHOOLS AND STUDENT SUCCESS!!!
